Home & Design Magazine Chesapeake Views Issue

Featured In Home & Design Chesapeake Views

In this special feature article, in the Fall/Winter issue of Home & Design Magazine’s Chesapeake Views edition, you’ll learn all about the exceptional client experience behind this coastal waterfront project located in St. Michaels, Maryland.  This is the client experience that Mueller Homes is renowned for.  The ten page story and photos cover the design process, the homeowner’s goals and vision, and the finished product.  With photographs of the home’s scenic views of the Chesapeake Bay, it’s easy to see why this article is titled, “Scenic Idyll.”

As president PJ Mueller noted, “The goal was to create a home that would stand the test of time, in a style that would not necessitate frequent changes.” At the owners’ request, he and his team implemented a variety of interior finishes, including board and batten and shiplap siding for nautical flair.  Every space in the home is designed for relaxed entertaining so that frequent guests feel a cozy, retreat setting with priceless views of on the penisula of Barrett Cove, Edge Creek and Broad Creek – tributaries of the Chesapeake Bay.

The article in Home & Design magazine describes the setting:  a home nestled on three-plus acres at the tip of a peninsula west of St. Michaels with 300-degree vistas.  Not only were there wetlands, but three water-facing sides of the site had 100-foot buffer zones. This location presented some challenges, but together with Architect Jonathan Rivera, and a collaborative approach, the challenges were overcome.  Rivera notes, “I let the lot inform the design, so that the main areas got the best views.”

Home & Design Magazine serves as the top resource for luxury consumers who want to tap into the design and architecture communities in the Baltimore-Washington region.   The Chesapeake Views issue is published twice a year and focuses on luxury homes on the Chesapeake Bay of Maryland.
