In addition, the project was featured in DC Magazine Modern Luxury Interiors, further recognizing the home’s design excellence and craftsmanship.
Located along Broad Creek on the Chesapeake Bay, St. Michael’s Retreat is a standout example of luxury coastal living on Maryland’s Eastern Shore. With sweeping water views and thoughtfully executed architectural details, the residence reflects the highest level of custom home design. The Design 9 Awards celebrate the most inspiring talent across the region, and this recognition highlights Mueller Homes’ commitment to creating distinctive, enduring homes.
The home was envisioned as a serene retreat for homeowners Tina and John, an accomplished couple balancing demanding professional lives. Tina serves as the Director for the Baltimore Ravens Cheerleaders and is the owner of a medical skin spa, while John is a professional pilot and owner of a jet management company. Together, they sought a refined yet welcoming sanctuary where modern luxury and the natural beauty of the Chesapeake Bay could coexist.
Mueller Homes brought this vision to life in collaboration with architect Jonathan Rivera, crafting a residence that seamlessly blends sophisticated interiors with its waterfront surroundings. Every detail was carefully considered to support both everyday living and quiet moments of retreat, resulting in a home that feels personal, elevated, and timeless.
