November 5, 2018 – Annapolis Home Magazine held their prestigious Annapolis Home Builder and Fine Design Awards at The Gibson Island Club on November 1. The event was sold out and attended by some of the area’s finest architects, builders, interior designers and other home industry professionals. Mueller Homes received the Excellence in Custom Home Building Award, Residential. An evaluation team that consisted of architectural, building and design professionals evaluated all entries.
The home is located on the banks of the Harris Creek, in St. Michael’s Maryland. Mueller Homes worked collaboratively with East Bay Design, a local architect, to bring this homeowner’s dreams to life. The home was originally an 1800s farm house. The original home had to be relocated on the property, which was a delicate undertaking. The project retained portions of the existing structure while incorporating many new design elements to complement the Federal style architecture and design.
“A significant effort was made to incorporate many of the home’s design elements from the original 1800s home Federal style period,” commented Paul Mueller, Jr., President of Mueller Homes. The original fireplaces were restored, complemented by many custom woodworking and architectural elements. Reclaimed brick, from the original farmhouse, was also incorporated into the design.
